news update: between January and May 2009, over 150 children have participated in studio C activities! studio C provides fun and inspiring classes and workshops suitable for children ages four through twelve. these activities grew out of a request made by a parents to provide an afterschool program that emphasized creative expression through a variety of mediums, as opposed to more traditional “craft” programs (in which students created identical projects by following a prescribed set of steps). studio C offers a wide variety of ready-to-go activities, and can also work with you to develop new projects that suit your needs. we use many different professional quality-art materials and mediums, including:
throughout the classes, parties, and workshops, children are introduced to the concepts of what it means to be an artist, respect for their own and others’ creative work, and proper care and use of materials. studio C encourages students to come to art on their own terms without criticism or pressure studio C was created by Lisa Fahy. Lisa was trained at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston as an educator and facilitator and ran a successful afterschool art program in a public school system just outside of Boston. Lisa most recently completed a contract at the National Museum of Ireland, Country Life in the Education and Outreach Department. She holds a graduate certificate in Museum Studies from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Originally from the Adirondacks region of New York State, Lisa now resides in Knock, Co.
